Metric System Catching on Slowly in Ireland

A country judge in Ireland has reduced the charges of a 31 year old man accused of driving 180 kilometers per hour because the offense didn't seem "so bad" when converted to the English equivalent of 112 miles per hour. Unfortunately the judge is in the hospital recovering from third degree burns on his hands after holding them in boiling water for 10 minutes, noting that 100 degrees centigrade didn't sound as if it were "that hot."
